eastern promise

OK so my blog took a back seat for a few days. I have lost my voice and my body is running on pretty much empty. I am so glad I am not flying off for any other fashion weeks, and the discussion that involved me and my friend Annabel possibly going to Paris definitely ended in the conclusion that we would rather spend our money on shoes. I can only imagine the money grabbers at Eurostar have racked up the prices to capitalise on an industry that pretty much pays peanuts. I'd rather spend 200 odd quid on Miu Miu mary janes thanks.

I am actually feeling really overwhelmed by London right now because I love so much, and I really don't want to overload this blog with so much information as it'd take someone a week to read through all my bullshit.

Sunday saw the start of me slacking slightly and not being a slave for shows, the great thing about being freelance is you can just go and see the things you love. I always have and I always will LIVE for Meadham Kirchhoff. I think it's pretty obvious from this blog how much I love them and it was a complete shock to see lace veils, 30's inspired dresses bursting with colour and embroidery that had a beautiful Romany Gypsy vibe. What was even more amazing was how under all the concepts and styling, they still managed to keep their identity as designers. Little reminders of the 90's and their signature deconstructed sportswear was consistent throughout the whole collection, albeit subtle. Designers who show in London can sometimes loose this identity with over worked ideas and themes, but the risk Ed Meadham and Ben Kirchhoff took was one worth taking as it looked effortless.
